BnHA Meta List

utaite-mun:

OKAY, to force myself to clean up my BnHA meta I’m going to go gather my old ones and then list the new ones I need to write on this post

written meta:

- Treatment of 1-A compared to treatment of 1-B by the fanbase at large (Aug 30, 2019)

- Why Bakugou’s canon hero name should not be “Ground Zero” (Apr 1, 2021)

- Monoma Neito, why he’s an asshole, and why thats all he’s ever known. An analysis of the backstory, potential trauma, and reasons why Monoma is so….. like that (June 5th, 2022)

- melting steel, a meta about Shouto Todoroki vs. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu. A meta breaking down the fight during the Joint Training Arc, why I have some gripes with it, my feelings on its adaptation, and fandom response (April 19th, 2023)

meta-adjacent content:

- An exploration, in comic form, of some of the ramifications and traumas related to the Shouto v. Tetsutetsu in the Joint Training Arc (May 6, 2021)

meta I need to write:

- Discussion on fatal tactics (or just plain bad) used during the Joint Training arc and a follow up to discuss fandom reactions

- A look at how Shouto Todoroki has begun to heal from his abuse and the mental state that came along with it, and how he is still relapsing

- Should… probably redux the 1-A vs. 1-B treatment by the fanbase meta

- THE ABSOLUTELY ANTAGONISTIC TREATMENT OF THE GENERAL COURSE (excluding Shinsou but also including him during sports festival) BY THE NARRATIVE

- In-Universe Ramificiations of the comparisons between Tetsutetsu and Kirishima being summed up as “Theyre the same person”

===

I know there are more to be added in the future but I will get there when necessary.

These do highly focus on fandom treatment and perception between 1-A and 1-B, as clearly by my icon and other posts I am a huge B class fan and I’ve been in this fanbase for quite some time and it’s… it’s an adventure.

That being said, I highly encourage open flow of discussion so please reblog with thoughts emotions and comments!

Hot take apparently but i do not think trans men should feel bad for being men. I love being a man! Being a man does not make me evil or dirty or violent! Being a man is not an inherently bad trait! I love all of my fellow trans men <3

IT’S FINALLY HERE! The true full size of my “do you love the colour of the sky HD remake director’s cut” tumblr post

This ended up being 2 ¾ inches wide by 36 FEET LONG.

The 2 ¾ inch width was chosen because that’s the same width as a pretty average phone screen, and I wanted to know how physically far you have to scroll to get past this post.

also dont tell my boss that I got into the art gallery before we opened just to set up this rainbow CVS receipt looking motherfucker. in my defense i literally couldn’t find any other location that was long enough to show this off

Please consider subscribing to my Patreon to gain access to my original content a week before its posted on tumblr!

reblogging this because the og post is suddenly getting a bunch of notes and i want everyone to see just how long this motherfucker is in real life

that is impressively long omg

also you all should be so grateful I never reblogged that post because WOW

If you want to talk about “cultural Christianity” let’s talk about the belief even amongst self-declared “progressives” that people without spiritual beliefs are empty-inside NPCs going through life unsaved unfulfilled and miserable lol

I should specify in this case I’m not even talking about people who subscribe to organized religious beliefs like Christianity etc. I’m specifically talking about the fashionable and heavily commodified “spirituality” which is so in vogue among young queers/“leftists” e.g. astrology, tarot, “witchcraft”/magic, bastardized “Eastern” spiritual practices, etc. and the assumption that people who aren’t receptive towards those things suffer from some deficiency of spirit and humanity

Hello! Sorry to bother you- I've been trying to find the anti-scraping code people can add to their works published on A03. I didn't know if perhaps you knew about it/could point me in the right direction to find it.

I'm coming back to A03 after a hiatus, and I just would rather not fear my work be stolen.

I had no idea such a thing existed. That’s cool if it works. Be nice to unlock my fic again.

If you’re posting on AO3, this isn’t something you have to worry about as an individual, they did it for you. They added the flag that tells Common Crawl not to scrape their website, and implemented a few backend features that also help limit “robot” access to their website.

If you’re posting on your own website you can look up how to implement these yourself!

Ah, thank you for the info!

@indigopersei is the french language just always on the verge of getting someone accused of assault or..?

my friend,
if only you knew

It’s a very dangerous language to learn

Here’s an interesting thing about French! Everything needs to have an article in front of it. That’s why it’s “la chat” as opposed to just “chat”. So, for instance, you could say la fille for the girl, or jeune fille for young girl, but you can’t just say fille, because that means you are calling her a sex worker in a derogatory way.

The moral of the story is, if you want to make something rude in French, just take out the article in front of it. Yes, this works for nearly. every. word.

#now I’m wondering how often my high school french teacher was silently screaming because of this little fact

Every year. Every year there’s that kid who forgets that you can’t translate “I am excited” to “Je suis excitée”. And every year Monsieur Jordan has to slam the brakes before that kid can finish his sentence and then tactfully ask him not to announce to the class that he is horny.

“is the french language always on the verge” oh buddy, oh pal, i am so happy to break this news to you:

No-fault divorce is actually very recent. That is, a divorce just because you wanted to get divorced and not because they were guilty of some provable transgression. California’s no-fault divorce law was 1966; the latest US state, it was 2010. When I was in Catholic school, we were taught to believe in and promote anti-no-fault-divorce positions. This is very recent history, and you cannot take even this for granted. Stop being “edgy” about feminism and its flaws. Every movement will have some flaws. But do you not think that this, and the risk it represents, is significant to women as a class of all backgrounds?

it’s literally as simple as “if you are against no-fault divorce, you believe that men should be able to own women like property”.

reminder for the twitter, reddit and tiktok migrants: please do not censor words here. if you censor them, people’s blacklists and mute functions wont work, especially for important content warnings (this goes for twitter as well altho that function is breaking over there). spell out the whole word in the post and the tags. do not use euphemism words like unalive. the algorithm here does not work that way (there is an algorithm. not everyone uses it, everyone uses the following tab).

the only time you should censor words is when you do NOT want them to show up in the tag, like if you’re saying something unkind about a ship you should not tag it or mention directly the ship name so it does not clog the tag, or if you’re mentioning a person or community who should not get attention or clout, or whose attention you do not want to attract, then censor it (the way one might on twitter to avoid term searching)

moonlit-sunflower-books:

friends to lovers never had a bad track. “scared i’ll ruin what we have” SLAPS. “friendship cuddles while secretly dying inside” BANGER. “teasing each other and holding eye contact for a little too long” KILLS ME. and don’t even get me STARTED on “screaming i love you in the middle of a heated argument.”

fandomeldersintheirthirties:

How fandoms came from “villain is literally the most interesting character in the story” to “anyone who likes the villain supports real life crime” is truly beyond my comprehension.

metalheadsforblacklivesmatter:

“Walkable city” is not “City where to have to walk everywhere.”

“Walkable city” is.

  1. Sidewalks big enough to fit you, your stroller, your wheelchair, your guide dog, or anything else you need when you’re getting from one place to another.
  2. Safe crosswalks frequent enough so you don’t need to walk in traffic.
  3. Bike lanes to keep bikes out of foot traffic and car traffic.
  4. Accessible and affordable public transit.
  5. Cities where the essentials are close enough you can travel on foot (or in wheelchair)
  6. Cities where it’s reasonable to be able to get from point a to point b without requiring you, yourself, to drive

People get so caught up in the “Walkable” part of the term and like to spout “Walkable cities are abelist because not everyone can walk”.

Bitch. The modern city structure is abelist because not everyone can drive. And classist because not everyone can afford a car and it’s pretty damn impossible to get a job if you don’t have a car.

Walkable cities are cities where people can reasonably get from pointA to pointB without requiring a motor vehicle.

“But fae. Disabled people have issues using the paths in modern cities.” Bitch abled people can barely use the paths in modern cities. That’s kind of the fucking problem.

Also walkable cities have fucking benches. Not only for disabled people. But sometimes you just twist your ankle and need to sit for a moment.

“Put fae. If you have benches, homeless people will sleep on them.”

Then get fucking housing for the homeless. Problem solved. They’ll sleep in their nice warm homes instead of on the benches.
